The Importance of Spaying & Neutering
Every year thousands of animals are euthanized in shelters across the nation. With so many animals coming in to shelters daily, it's impossible to find homes for all of them. Please join Hanna SPCA Pet Rescue & Shelter in their effort to educate the citizens of Hanna & District on the importance of spaying and neutering your pets. Many people don't realize all the benefits to neutering their cats and dogs. The number one reason for choosing this option is that it saves lives of innocent animals. There are numerous other reasons to spay and neuter your pets too which include:
-
it helps pets live longer
-
it makes pets more affectionate companions
-
pets are less likely to fight
-
spaying/neutering reduces the urge to roam
-
it stops males from marking their territory
-
neutered pets have fewer behavior problems
-
it's cheaper than caring for a litter
-
neutering prevents the birth of unwanted puppies/kittens.
It's important to have your pets spayed or neutered by the time they reach sexual maturity -6 months of age. Be a part of the solution and SPAY and NEUTER your pets - IT SAVES LIVES!

Hanna S.P.C.A. Phone Number
The Hanna S.P.C.A. Pet Rescue and Shelter finally has a phone number! Call 854-0706 when you have a question about adopting, surrendering, volunteering, or our organization.
How Do I Adopt?
-
If you are interested in adoption you must fill out an Adoption Application.
-
If your application is accepted you pay the adoption fee and take home your pet if the pet has been fixed.
-
If the animal needs to be fixed, we will make an appointment with the vet clinic of your choice in town and take the animal to the appointment.
-
You pick the animal up from the vet clinic and pay the spay/neuter fee and you will receive our Hanna S.P.C.A. discount on services.
What Is the Cost?
The fees for adoption are as follows:
Kittens (12 weeks & under) $15
Puppies (6 months & under) $45
Cat $35
Dog $60
Since the Hanna S.P.C.A doesn’t have a shelter facility, we rely completely on volunteers who are willing to open their homes and become a Foster Home. Foster homes allow people to rescue homeless animals from a variety of situations by providing these animals with temporary care and shelter until they are adopted.
Right now we are looking for anyone who is willing to take a cat into their home while it waits to be adopted. We have no one fostering cats and due to the cold weather we desperately need foster homes.
If you are interested in becoming a Foster Home or just want more information call 854-0706 or email us info@hannaspca.com.
Hanna S.P.C.A Surrending Fees
If you find that you have to surrender your pet, we charge a fee to take them in and place them in a foster home until they can be adopted.
The following is our fee schedule for surrending animals into our care.
Kittens (12 weeks & under) - $15
Puppies (6 months & under) - $45
Cats - $35
Dogs - $60
If you are willing to keep the animal until we can find it a loving adoptive home, we ask only for a cash donation to cover the administrative costs associated with the adoption process.
