Registered Apprenticeship Program

Learning a trade while taking school courses is made possible through the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
RAP allows students to earn credits towards an Alberta High School Diploma or Certificate of Achievement while gaining work time credit toward apprenticeship as a journeyman.  As a school-to-work transitional program, RAP makes apprenticeship more accessible for the student seriously committed to entering a trade career.

What goes on at the Hanna Learning Centre?

We provide personalized client services in four different areas which include:

  • Our Career Centre and Youth Connections aids clients in finding and retaining employment as well as connecting them to learning opportunities.

  • The Literacy and Family Literacy programs provide reading, writing, math, and English as a Second Language (ESL) services to the people of Hanna and surrounding areas.

  • The Community Adult Learning Program continues to offer a wide variety of courses and programs to the community including: workplace safety, health, fitness, computer, personal, and career related courses.

  • The Community Information & Volunteer Centre (CIVC) assists volunteer groups and organizations with their initiatives or projects including grant proposals.

In 2002, The Learning Centre generated income of $464, 439  into our community while providing quality service within our program areas. This revenue supports continued employment for staff and covers all of our operating costs for each program. Hanna E-Index

Local community researchers will be out and about over the next couple of months doing face to face surveys in the Hanna, Delia and Youngstown areas for the Hanna E-Index Project.

These surveys are being conducted to determine what the general public understands about current technology and how much of it is being used by people in our local communities. The information accumulated will be used to determine learning gaps that will addressed by informative courses available to the people in and around Hanna.

If you are chosen to participate in a survey, your cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Your name will also go into a draw valued at approximately $100, to be drawn when the surveying is complete. For more information about the project, please go to:
